Casa Tia Maria lies in the unspoilt tranquil village of Acequias.
This old Moorish village is set in the hills and overlooks the valley of Lecrin renowned for its orange and lemon groves that give off the most wonderful scents.
The area is one of the least developed valleys in Andalucia, where the donkey is still a familiar means of transport - and the locals measure their olive crop in donkey loads.

Acequias is only 25 minutes from Granada, an ancient Moorish town famous for its history, architecture and the extraordinary Alhambra Palace. It is 30 minutes from the Costa Tropical with its selection of lovely beaches and 60 minutes from the international ski resort of Sol y Nieve.
Large walled gardens with orange trees and lemon trees. Swimming pool with area for children which is solar heated in the cooler months, patios in shade or sun, picnic and barbecue areas. The pool is available from Easter.
Each season has its flowers in Acequias - almond blossom in February, brilliant red poppies in May and bougainvillea in high summer. The countryside is wonderful for walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking, bird watching and golf. This part of Spain also has some of the clearest skies in Europe and shooting stars are a familiar sight.
The village lies right on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park, an area of rich contrast, ranging from the snowfields of Sol y Nieve to the lush vegetation of subtropical valleys, home to many of Spain's most precious animals and butterflies.
The coast is 30 minutes drive. Malaga airport is 1.5 hours drive.
